Bone Health Clinic

Bones need to be strong for life’s journey. Most people don’t think about bone health until there’s a problem, but by then, prevention becomes treatment. Take a proactive step to evaluate and improve bone health. Schedule your assessment and plan with the new Bone Health Clinic at Chatham Orthopaedics.

This clinic is recommended for women between the ages of 45 – 55 and men between the ages of 60 – 70.

What to Expect

Your appointment is designed to give you clear answers about your bone health and a plan to stay strong moving forward.

What’s Included:

  • Bone density scan (DEXA)
  • Personalized risk assessment
  • Expert guidance on improving bone strength
  • Exclusive access to discounted health counseling and strength-focused training programs

You will be asked to complete a two-page form to provide us with vital information about your medical history and risks.

An initial DEXA scan to measure bone density and strength will be performed at Atlantic Radiology. The DEXA results will be sent to our bone health team at Chatham Orthopaedic Associates and reviewed alongside your medical and family history and lifestyle factors. We will give you a personalized risk assessment that informs you of your overall bone condition, osteoporosis risk, and FRAX Score, which will indicate your risk of a fracture over a 10-year period.

A wellness plan will be developed with you to ensure your bone health is strong. Your plan may include diet and nutrition, supplements and exercise. We will refer you to our bone health partners should you choose to utilize the services.

If we identify osteoporosis, we will also refer you to an endocrinologist to determine if pharmacologic therapy is beneficial for you.

Assessment Fee: $425
