Ronald H. Levit, M.D., completed specialty training in hand & upper extremity surgery at the Curtis National Hand Center, a prestigious program in Baltimore, Maryland, designated by Congress as The National Center for the Treatment of the Hand and Upper Extremity. Dr. Levit is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and has received a Certificate of Added Qualification in hand surgery.
Dr. Levit utilizes the most advanced minimally invasive procedures to treat common upper extremity conditions, in addition to many common general orthopaedic problems and conditions. Most of his procedures are performed on an outpatient basis under regional anesthesia, allowing for a more pleasant surgical experience.
Dr. Levit also provides specialized medical care for many of the areas collegiate and high school athletes. He is an active member at Memorial University Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Candler Hospital and Effingham Hospital. Dr. Levit’s goal is for his patients to resume their normal level of activity and participation in sports as quickly and painlessly as possible, while providing a relaxed, caring medical setting.

As always, Dr. Levit and the entire staff at Chatham Ortho run a smooth operation from entering the front doors to the friendly goodbyes as you depart. Dr. Levit has ordered me relief in my hands and elbows through 4 surgeries! There's at least 2 more, possibly 3 - I had spent years begging varying healthcare providers for relief to no avail. He was thorough, thoughtful and provided me with a plan to get the chronic, intense pain to be under control. I can't recommend him higher!

Very pleased with him & Chatham orthopedic. I have been a patient of Dr Wheeler for years and he's the best but I recently broke my wrist and the hospital told me wrist and hand. Doctor Levit has made a horrible situation into a manageable situation. After a bad fall, he immediately operated and reattached my tricep tendon to my elbow!!! I was brought out of the waiting room into the examine room exactly at my appointment time. Within a few minutes, I was in for X-Rays and then back to wait for the next step. Shortly afterwards, his PA (Paige) was in to describe what was being seen on the X-Rays and to step through the prognosis. On my first visit with Dr Levitt I was miserable. I will wake up every morning and barely halfway close my hands and the pain on my hands was pretty bad. As a few hours after getting up pass by they movement on my hands came back and I can move my hands not all the way but enough to get by. Dr Levitt gave me a series of shots on my hands the very same day. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Levit today. His office/staff were courteous and very professional. He came in and examined my shoulder and explained everything in detail. He took time and answered my questions. I never felt rushed and he was very kind. I would highly recommend him. Dr. Levitt performed Carpel Tunnel, Cubital Tunnel and De Quarvains release on me in October and was so kind and helpful. He also helped diagnose my bulging discs in my neck that were causing my headaches and sent me for Xrays.Patient Submitted Review

A wonderful group of people! Dr. Levit did both of my carpal tunnel and capital tunnel surgeries with no issues. Even though he was busy, he never gave the impression you were bothering him or that he just wanted to do a drive-by. Just do as he says and keep moving your hand and stretching to make recovery fast. Do your OT as well.Patient Submitted Review

Dr. Levit has done an excellent job making sure I receive the tests and treatments necessary to correctly diagnose the problems, as well as the extent and permanency of the damage done. I make my living doing very detailed work with my hands, so I made sure I found the best hand surgeon in town. After seeing other providers that told me rest would fix the problem, I like that he's been direct about how to preserve the health of my hand/wrist function - even if it's not an easy fix.Read more

There aren't enough words that can describe the care and treatment the Dr. Levit and his team provided pre and post surgery. The gave a wealth of information yo make sure that I took care of my site while I was home. Only person I will let work on my hand.
