Derek A. Barker, DPM

Dr. Derek A. Barker is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in Foot Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He practices general podiatric medicine with a focus of surgery of the foot and ankle. Within his podiatric specialty, specific areas of interest include foot surgery, wound care, and educating diabetic patients on the importance and need for regular foot care and screening.

A Michigan native, he earned his Biomedical Science degree from Western Michigan University and his doctorate from William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. After Podiatry school, he went on to complete his surgical residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, where he became Chief Resident before completion.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Barker enjoys spending time with his wife, Lacey and their 5 children. He is a DIY Carpentry Enthusiast and enjoys Drone Photography.
